What I’ve Realized About Movieguide

For months, I’ve written a lot about Ted Baehr’s Movieguide.

I’m currently reading A Game of Thrones.

And, recently, I realized something:

Movieguide is like Viserys: An entity that I used to feel intimidated by. As time has passed, and I saw Movieguide’s true colors, I’ve realized that, ultimately, there is nothing to fear.

The reason I talked so much about Movieguide is because as a Catholic and a lover of movies, Movieguide should have been speakin’ my language. But they don’t. Often.

I felt I had to do something. Anything. I felt that Movieguide was committing an injustice. And because I was bored — I can only slay so many dragons in Skyrim before I think “I’ve got to do something else.” — and I had the means, I decided to do what I could to talk to the people at Movieguide, to convince them to change their ways. But, only God can change a person’s heart.

I’m done writing about Movieguide.

Ted Baehr, Tom Snyder, and the people who work for them can continue screaming into the wind all they want. I’m going to do what I should have done a long time ago: Ignore them.
